OnlyFans agency glossary
The words agencies, chatters and managers use every day, explained in a sentence or two. Useful for onboarding a new chatter and for briefing an AI one.
People and roles
- OFM
- OnlyFans management: an agency that runs creators’ accounts for a share of their earnings. It usually handles traffic, chatting and content planning.
- Chatter
- The person who writes to fans in a creator’s direct messages on her behalf and sells content there. Agencies run chatters in shifts so chats are covered around the clock.
- Account (page)
- One creator profile on OnlyFans or Fansly. An agency usually runs several, often with different chatters and different prices.
- Persona
- How a creator comes across in chats: her backstory, character, writing style and limits. Every chatter, human or AI, has to keep it consistent, or fans notice.
- Script
- A prepared sequence of messages for a typical situation: greeting a new subscriber, warming up before a PPV, answering a haggle. Agencies use scripts to make new chatters sell like experienced ones.
Selling content
- PPV (pay-per-view)
- A locked message with photos or videos that the fan pays to open. In most agencies PPV in direct messages brings in more than subscriptions.
- Unlock
- The moment a fan pays for a PPV and it opens for him. Agencies track how many PPVs are unlocked out of how many are sent.
- Vault
- The creator’s library of uploaded photos and videos on the platform, sorted into folders. PPVs, mass messages and bundles are built from it.
- Mass message
- One message sent to many fans at once, often with a PPV attached. Good for reach, but it feels less personal than a one-to-one chat.
- Bundle
- A ready pack of content sold together at one price, for example a full photo set with a video. Easier to sell than a single file and raises the average check.
- Price ladder
- Selling in steps: a cheap or free teaser first, then more explicit content at higher prices. Each purchase makes the next one easier.
- Upsell
- Offering a fan something more after he has bought: the next step of the ladder, a longer video or a custom.
- Custom
- Content made to one fan’s request for a separate price. Usually the most expensive thing a creator sells, and it needs her to shoot it.
- Sexting session
- A paid one-to-one chat where the creator, or the chatter, plays out a scene with the fan in real time and releases content as it goes.
- GFE
- Girlfriend experience: the fan pays for warmth and attention, not only for content. Long, personal chats where remembering details about him matters most.
Fans and money
- Tip
- Money a fan sends as a gift, outside of buying content. A good chatter thanks right away and never thanks for a tip that has not actually arrived.
- Whale
- A fan who spends far more than the rest. A few whales often bring a large share of an account’s income, so agencies give them their best chatters.
- Total spent
- How much a fan has paid on the account in all: subscriptions, PPVs and tips. Chatters check it before they set a price for him.
- Rebill
- An automatic renewal of a fan’s subscription. The share of fans with rebill turned on shows how many plan to stay.
- Churn
- Fans who stop paying, unsubscribe or just go quiet. Most accounts lose more money to quiet fans than to fans who say no.
- Win-back
- Writing to a fan who went quiet to bring him back into the chat. Works best as a personal message that picks up where the last conversation ended, not a template. More in the guide →
Traffic
- Free trial link
- A link that gives a new fan a free subscription for a few days. Brings many subscribers at once, and they all need to be greeted and sold to quickly.
- Tracking link
- A link with a label that shows which source brought a subscriber: a social account, an ad, a promotion. Agencies use it to see which traffic pays off.
- SFS
- Shoutout for shoutout: two creators promote each other to their audiences. A cheap way to get traffic between accounts of similar size.
- New account
- A page with no paying fans and no history yet. Strong chatters avoid it because there is little to earn at first, which makes it a natural place to start with AI chatting. More in the guide →
AI chatting
- AI chatter
- Software that writes to fans in a creator’s direct messages in her persona, remembers each fan and sells content from her vault at prices the agency set. More in the guide →
- Copilot
- A mode where the AI prepares the reply and the PPV, and a chatter checks, edits and sends it. The person stays in charge and works faster. More in the guide →
- Autopilot
- A mode where the AI sends replies by itself, within the agency’s rules, and hands the chat to a person when something is off limits. More in the guide →
- Content recognition
- The AI looks at every photo and video in the chosen vault folders and describes what is on it, so it can offer a fan exactly what he asked for.
- Sandbox
- A private chat where the agency plays the fan and sees how the AI answers before it talks to anyone real. More in the guide →
